FeedATL is a weekly program taking place all Summer long, made possible by our partnership with the Food Well Alliance. We will be working with a hand-picked cohort of urban farmers who work hard every day to bolster Atlanta’s local food ecosystem.
Head to Mena’s Farm, for a morning of good garden vibes in the West End. You’ll meet Filomena DeAndrade, also known as Mena, and learn about her important role in urban farm and food infrastructure community of Atlanta. You’ll also get your hands dirty in the gardens and you’ll get to meet like-minded folks in a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere.
For the service part…
This is our second visit to Mena’s Farm, and we will assist with all kinds of fun gardening tasks like harvesting summer crops, pulling weeds from the ground, and other important TLC for the farm. No experience necessary, but if you have some garden skills we will gladly take them!
Project will kick off at 9am and go until around 11:30am.
For the social part…
When we finish working, our group will head across the street to West End Park for a light lunch of wraps from Tassili’s Raw Reality Cafe, some cold drinks, and lawn games!
