FeedATL is a weekly program taking place all Summer long, made possible by our partnership with the Food Well Alliance. We will be working with a hand-picked cohort of urban farmers who work hard every day to bolster Atlanta’s local food ecosystem.
For Part 11, we will return to our friends at Metro Atlanta Urban Farm in College Park for a Saturday morning filled with hands-on fun. You’ll learn about the important work this organization is doing to supply healthy and fresh food to local residents, you’ll get your hands dirty in the gardens, and you’ll get to meet like-minded folks in a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere.
For the service part…
For the first year ever, MAUF’s lead farmer is creating a full-blown Crop Maze to help build out opportunities for local youth education and engagement throughout the farming season. Our group will continue helping with various tasks to construct this maze, along with other crop maintenance that’s needed.
For the social part…
When we finish working, we’ll gather at the picnic pavilion at the farm to make culinary influencer Sonny Hurrell’s famous recipe for fresh-picked rosemary salt for everyone to take home! “If you know, you know!” We will also have some cold beverages and light snacks for everyone to enjoy while we gather.
