In 2024, Food Well plans to provide $274,000 in grants through two categories of support: a $8,000 Farm Support Grant awarded to 28 farms and a $25,000 Farm Forward Grant awarded to 2 farms. By offering two categories of support, Food Well can reach more farms with funding, while also supporting a couple of larger improvement projects so farmers can grow their businesses and provide healthy local food for others.

Farmers can apply for these grant offerings in addition to the line-up of ongoing farm-focused resources that Food Well provides to help farms thrive. As in previous years, farmers will be able to outline how they plan to use the Farm Grant. There is space in the grant application for farmers to outline their top needs and describe how the grant will help them address those needs. Examples of ways farms can use the funding include: completing farm infrastructure projects, improving or expanding production areas, supporting farm personnel costs, purchasing vital equipment or supplies, or accessing professional services or farmer training.
