Singer/Songwriter/Activist Leah Song of the acclaimed Southern-born-and-based Folk/World ensemble Rising Appalachia is co-producing a weekend-long “Resiliency Training” in Atlanta, GA, titled "Weaving Threads of Change: Community Resilience, Civic Resistance, and Regenerative Culture”. The training will take place from April 28th through April 30th at The Elevator Factory – the innovative downtown-Atlanta creative event/workspace and studio. Additional event co-producers include:
Natalie Bogwalker - Founder and director of Wild Abundance and Firefly Gathering.
Emily Ruff - Executive Director of The Florida School of Holistic Living and Standing Rock Medics.
Frank Salzano - Former City Councilman of Shepherdstown, WVA, where he served on city commissions for Planning and Zoning, Environmental Sustainability, and Affordable Housing.
The program focuses on sharing strategies to empower attendees to stay strong in themselves in these pressing and turbulent times and to help enhance the resiliency of their local communities while working to build effective grassroots movements for political and social change. The multidisciplinary, culturally-transformative curriculum integrates the essential skills necessary for personal empowerment, earth-based living, and social agency. Topics will include:

Organizational Development & Values-Based Leadership
Healing Arts & Earth-Based Spiritual Practices
Strategies for Political Resistance & Civic Engagement
The weekend-long intensive training will consist of a variety of informative seminar-style lectures and presentations from top subject matter experts in each field, hands-on learning exercises, group discussions, “break-out” drills, and an engaging and thoughtful evening entertainment program.
