Tapestry Garden is an approximately 1.5 acre garden space that Food Well Alliance leases from Tapestry Community Homeowners Association in DeKalb County. Managed by our incredible but inedible Community Garden Team, Fred Conrad and Flannery Pearson-Clarke, everything grown at Tapestry Garden is donated to local food pantries. If you’d like to donate produce from your garden, check out the Plant a Row for the Hungry campaign!
Tapestry Garden is also where we host volunteer groups. While our program historically has connected volunteers with community gardens in our five county service area — Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb, Clayton, and Gwinnett, during the pandemic, we are limiting volunteer workdays to Tapestry and strictly following CDC guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
Volunteers at Tapestry Garden assist with activities such as mulching, weeding, watering plants, staking tomato plants, and harvesting produce. Garden needs change seasonally, but the need for fresh produce and volunteer assistance do not!
