In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Food Well Alliance has cancelled all events and convenings until June 1, 2020. During this time we are focusing our attention on allocating critical resources to our farm and garden partners and creating virtual experiences for metro Atlanta residents who want to remain engaged in the local food community. This blog will be updated with new resources and developments on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You can also tune into our Instagram Live Stream on Friday at 1 pm for a recap and interviews with farmers and local food organizations.

Plant. Eat. Repeat. Gardening Videos

Although we’re disappointed not to see everyone in person for our Plant. Eat. Repeat. Spring Garden Workshops with Atlanta Botanical Garden, we have created some digital resources to help you get growing. Check out the first video below and visit our Community Garden Resource Center for more information.

Bucket Brigade Delivers 50 Mini Gardens

Take a virtual visit to Metro Atlanta Urban Farms last Friday, where the Bucket Brigade built 150 bucket gardens and delivered them to 50 families in the City of East Point to increase their access to fresh, healthy food. Special thanks to City Councilmember Thomas Calloway and the East Point Department of Parks and Recreation. Learn More.

Earth Day Greenhouse Party

We celebrated Earth Day with DJ Fifthwurld of Nature’s Candy Farms on Instagram Live last night from 6-8 p.m. Although we couldn’t be together at Earth Day Farmers Jam, DJ Fifthwurld created an experience for farmers, gardeners and all of the Food Well family to come together virtually and celebrate the earth, as well as those who take care of it. Be on the lookout for more Greenhouse Parties on Instagram! Follow us @foodwellalliance.
