Southeast Cattle Handling for Women Producers: Advanced BQA Training and Farm Safety
/Presented by UGA Extension In collaboration with North Carolina State University, Clemson University, Auburn University and Mississippi State University through a Southern Extension Risk Management Education Grant
This 2 day workshop (December 5-6, 2017) is designed to provide leadership training for female cattle producers in the Southeast and to provide hands-on experiences led by professionals in the field. It aims to encourage more women to be active as leaders in their State Cattlemen's Association and in their communities.
This event is limited to 20 participants in order to maintain small group size and to allow the opportunity to be active and gain hands-on experience. The workshop will cover BQA Training and Certification, Media Training, Tractor Safety, Truck & Trailer Safety, Reproduction & Dystocia, and Herd Record Keeping. If you are interested in attending the workshop, please fill out the application and return by the deadline.
Accepted applicants will be notified by November 17, 2017. The cost for attending the workshop is $75/person and will be due upon acceptance. We will have a block of rooms at a local hotel for those staying in Athens.
