In conjunction with their grand opening, Cultured South will host the 2nd Annual Atlanta Fermentation Festival on Sunday, May 20th from noon to 6pm at Lee + White. The festival was created last year to grow awareness about fermentation and educate the community about the history and health benefits of traditional fermented foods.
Attendees can expect fermented products from around two dozen local and regional producers, educational talks and demonstrations, seasonal kombucha on tap, kombucha mocktails and much more. At-home fermentation pros are encouraged to bring their own cultures for a ‘culture swap,’ and guests can enjoy samples of chocolate, coffee, vegan cheeses, beer, cider, honey, sourdough crackers and breads, and more.
Proceeds from ATL Fermentation Fest will benefit Community Farmers Markets, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the growth and sustainability of a diverse local food culture. CFM will also host a DIY fermentation station during the event.
