FeedATL is a weekly program taking place all Summer long, made possible by our partnership with the Food Well Alliance. We will be working with a hand-picked cohort of urban farmers who work hard every day to bolster Atlanta’s local food ecosystem.
For Part 8, FeedATL will head back to Gilliam’s Community Garden in Oakland City for a morning of forging new paths and forging new friendships. You’ll learn about the important work this organization is doing to supply healthy and fresh food to local residents, you’ll get your hands dirty in the gardens, and you’ll get to meet like-minded folks in a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere.
For the service part…
Farmer Charlie will put us to work with everything from harvesting crops to weeding and more. You’ll be part of making a difference in helping bring fresh food to this historic neighborhood. No skills required, but come ready to sweat!
For the social part…
When we finish working, we will supply you with a hard-earned pizza lunch and some cold drinks to enjoy on the farm.
