Food Well Alliance welcomes you to hear from our local Beginning Farmers Program Coordinator about the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) resources and opportunities.
Come to Atlanta Community Food Bank on Thursday, July 21 at 6pm to engage with Rodney Brooks, our regional Beginning Farmer Coordinator with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He will offer insights on how new and beginning farmers can better connect with USDA services.
Learn more about the 17 agencies that make up the federal organization and get answers to direct questions about navigating USDA’s multitude of opportunities.
Resources for urban agriculture include the following:
instruction for obtaining high tunnel hoop houses
registering for a farm serial number
funding for everything from operating expenses, supporting value-added producers to scale, and helping develop and implement direct-to-consumer marketing strategies
We hope we’ll see you on July 21 as we learn how to use our federal resources to further the movement!
Refreshments will be served.
