The American Community Gardening Association has partnered with Food Well Alliance and USDA NRCS GA to host the Growing Communities Workshop. This in-depth, 2-day workshop is based on the ACGA's curriculum for community development, Growing Communities: Community Building and Organizational Development through Community Gardening.
Students will join Farmer Emily when the Wylde Center’s farms are transitioning from spring to summer. Students will help with the planting of the summer farm crops and the building of support structures, perfect skills that are easily replicated in your home garden or farm. If you have questions about what to plant, when, and how, this workshop will teach you what you need to know to get your summer garden started. To set your garden and farm up for success, you will learn weed pressure management through cultivation and mulching.

The creation of Food Well Alliance was made possible through funding from the founding benefactor, the James M. Cox Foundation, and through the vision of Jim Kennedy, chair of Cox Enterprises, and Bill Bolling, founder of the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Together, they saw an opportunity to build healthier communities across metro Atlanta by supporting and connecting members of our local food movement. Today, we support more than 300 community gardens, urban farms and orchards in the Atlanta region.
