Learn to integrate gardening and cooking activities into the elementary classroom to provide hands-on, exploratory learning opportunities that enhance student understanding of academic standards. During the workshop, teachers will participate in model lessons that address science, social studies, math, reading, and writing standards across grade levels. Additionally, teachers will be provided time for exploring available resources and for brainstorming with other experienced teachers to develop implementation strategies for each unique school setting. Teachers will leave this fun, hands-on workshop with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to begin implementing farm to school lessons in their classroom.
Open to all elementary educators from districts that applied for a 2016 Golden Radish Award. Not sure? Scroll down to "School District" to see if your district is listed.
This workshop is coordinated by Georgia Organics and led by Jenna Mobley, a veteran K-5 public school teacher and farm to school consultant.
