Food Well Alliance is hosting the FREE WIC and Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) Farmer Training offered by the Georgia Department of Public Health. Food Well Alliance collaborated with the Department specifically to give small-scale urban farmers this opportunity.
The training is required for all farmers currently participating in the FMNP and any new farmers interested in participating in 2018.
Farmers who complete the training and receive certification can earn an average of $17,000 per year AND be a source of much needed healthy produce for low-income families and seniors.
If you plan to come, you’ll need to RSVP here.
Please bring your Certified Organic or CNG certification to the training. Farmers not certified organic/certified naturally grown must bring two documents to the training:
A letter from the Cooperative Extension Agency documentation their status as a grower. (the letter should list the types produce the farmer grows.)
A copy of a deed or lease agreement for the property the produce is grown on.
We hope to see you on Friday, June 15 at Food Well Alliance, located at the Atlanta Community Food Bank’s facility at 970 Jefferson St. NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. Breakfast and lunch provided. Contact Syreeta Wainaina at (404) 657-4656 or Syreeta.Wainaina@dph.ga.gov with questions. Please RSVP here.
