Atlanta students learn self-sustainability through agriculture - ANF

There is nothing like growing and harvesting your own fruits and veggies. Those skills can be life-changing, especially when you live in a low-income area.

A program called “Compost Connectors” is bringing fresh fruits and veggies, greenhouses, and an income to Atlanta high school students. It’s a partnership between local schools and Food Well Alliance. The initiative helps students connect with nature, teaching them ways to protect the environment and care for the world around them.

“When I am out here, I feel really at peace and I feel really happy because I am learning about things that I would have never learned about otherwise,” said Booker T. Washington High School student Shanii Armour.
