Revise Landscapes and Certain Nuisance Ordinances to Allow For Native Growing
/Madison, Wisconsin’s Edible Landscaping Permits
City of Madison allows for citizens to apply to plant fruit and nut trees and other perennials in parks and other examples of city-owned land. The City does not provide any financial resources or maintenance to these plantings, but supports citizen groups in creating and caring for these landscapes and provides the land to do so. After the permit is approved, it is valid for at least three years. Use of pesticides, herbicides, and other chemicals is highly discouraged.
