Vancouver Schoolyard Market Garden Program

The Vancouver School Board in partnership with FreshRoots Vancouver initiated the Schoolyard Market Gardens program, which are outdoor classrooms available for use for teachers across all disciplines and grade levels. The produce grown in the gardens is distributed through a weekly CSA, served in school cafeterias, and purchased by local restaurants. The gardens host annual professional development days for educators to discover best practices on how to use the garden to achieve their specific curriculum goals.
