In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Food Well Alliance has cancelled all events and convenings until June 1, 2020. During this time we are focusing our attention on allocating critical resources to our farm and garden partners and creating virtual experiences for metro Atlanta residents who want to remain engaged in the local food community. This blog will be updated with new resources and developments on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You can also tune into our Instagram Live Stream on Friday at 1 pm for a recap and interviews with farmers and local food organizations.

Community Garden Listening Session

Food Well Alliance is partnering with Park Pride and AgLanta to host a listening session with community gardeners on Thursday, April 16 at noon. We want to know what concerns or questions you may have for your garden during Covid-19 and the “Shelter-in-Place” period. Your feedback will help inform a future webinar on the state of the local food system in metro Atlanta.

Garden Labor Support: Update

To increase our capacity to support farms and gardens, we have hired Khari Diop, an expert gardener, former Food Well Alliance grant recipient and perennial member of our Soil Festival Host Committee. Gardens across metro Atlanta can expect to meet Khari in the coming weeks as he assists gardens in reaching their full capacity. If your garden has needs, please fill out this form and a member of our team will get back to you.

In The Field

Fred Conrad from Food Well Alliance supported Lovely Gilliam at Gilliam’s Community Farm in Atlanta with his BCS tractor last week - check out some photos from the farm! If your farm needs support from our team please email gardens@foodwellalliance.org if you are in Fulton, Cobb, Gwinnett, Dekalb, or Clayton counties.
