The Leaders Growing Community Gardens Initiative is offering workshops to equip you (community gardeners!) with leadership skills to help your garden grow!
These 2-day workshops are available in all five counties and are free to all interested community members. Community garden leadership and horticulture knowledge covered in each workshop include:
- Community Building
Marketing/Communication

Administration
Working with Diverse Populations
Governance
Volunteers
Fundamentals of Organic Agriculture
Plants and Planting
Irrigation
Integrated Pest and Disease Management
Advanced Gardening Techniques
Harvesting
Garden Design and Management
*Registration and Breakfast begins at 8:30am and workshops end at 5pm, each day.
Community gardens are an essential part of Atlanta, and our goal is to make this training accessible to any gardener (or future gardener!) in the area. There is an opportunity to attend a workshop in each of the five counties we serve and some locations are accessible by MARTA. For the additional transportation support please contact Khari Diop, Think Green Inc., khari[at]thinkgreeninc[dot]org
We encourage you to join the workshop in your county if possible— that makes it easy to connect with gardeners near you! But if you can't make the workshop in your county, you are welcome to register for any of the sessions; the content will be the same at each.
**Attending a Leaders Growing Community Gardens leadership workshop will give you preference when applying for the 2017 Community Garden Grant, which will be made available in January 2017.**
